Due to their ability to withstand high speed vehicle impact and prevent automobiles from jumping over them, plastic jersey barriers are commonly used at speedways or race tracks. Because these are lightweight plastic barriers, as opposed to the heavy concrete models, they are easy to setup and tear down making them ideal for temporary racing tracks. The low-profile jersey and Mobilecade models are the most used for the speedway application but taller models can be used in sections where debris may become airborne.
